Walk: 0.3 miles. Excellent. This is basically our benchmark for an ideal park hotel location.

Biggest tradeoff: It's a limited-service hotel with no hotel breakfast.

Our take: You're paying for location, and the location delivers.

STAY

Hotel Indigo Anaheim

One of our favorite overall options

Walk
0.7 mi
Parking
Free
Breakfast
Not included

Best for: A nicer hotel experience without giving up walkability or paying for parking.

Read our full take

Walk: 0.7 miles. Walkable, but this is about our max comfortable distance for long park days.

Biggest tradeoff: The walk is noticeably longer than the hotels directly across Harbor.

Our take: A really good balance of hotel quality, location and value.

STAY

Desert Palms Hotel & Suites

Solid family value

Walk

Breakfast
Free hot breakfast

Best for: Families who want breakfast included while staying within our comfortable walking range.

Walk: 0.7 miles. Walkable, but right around our max comfortable distance.

Biggest tradeoff: Paid parking eats into some of the value you get from the included breakfast.

Our take: Nothing flashy, but it checks a lot of practical boxes for a Disneyland trip.

STAY

Kings Inn Anaheim

Our budget pick

Walk
0.8 mi
Parking
$15/night
Breakfast
Not included

Best for: A simple, lower-cost stay when you care more about value than hotel extras.

Read our full take

Walk: 0.8 miles. Borderline for us, but we'd usually still walk rather than deal with Disney parking. Room location matters a lot here; a room at the back adds a noticeable amount to the walk.

Biggest tradeoff: It's a budget motel, not a polished hotel experience.

Our take: Clean, simple and a hotel we'd absolutely use again when the price makes sense.

STAY

Castle Inn & Suites

If you can handle an outdated room

Walk
0.5 mi
Parking
Free (1 car per room)
Breakfast
Not included

Best for: Families who want a good walk, free parking and fun castle theming.

Read our full take

Walk: 0.5 miles. Easy. Room location matters a lot, though, because the property extends pretty far back.

What we liked: The location and castle theming give it way more personality than a typical motel.

Biggest tradeoff: The room itself felt very outdated.

Our take: We'd stay here again. Just go in expecting the room to feel older than the exterior makes you hope.

STAY

Anaheim Marriott Suites

One of the nicer hotels we've stayed at

Walk
1.8 mi
Parking
$25/night
Breakfast
Not included

Best for: Families who want a nicer hotel experience plus a lot more space.

Read our full take

Walk: 1.8 miles. We'd drive or rideshare.

Parking: $25/night. The shared lot has tight spaces and can get especially frustrating when events are happening.

What we liked: The two-room suite gives you a separate living area and much more room to spread out.

Biggest tradeoff: You give up Disneyland walkability, and the parking situation is surprisingly bad for a hotel at this level.

Our take: One of the nicer Disneyland-area hotels we've stayed at. We'd stay again, especially when we want more space and don't mind driving to the parks.

STAY

Hyatt Place Anaheim Resort/Convention Center

Especially for bigger families

Walk
1.0 mi
Parking
Paid
Breakfast
Free

Best for: Families who value a larger room setup and free breakfast.

Read our full take

Walk: 1.0 mile. Longer than we want for a normal park walk.

Biggest tradeoff: You get a better family hotel setup, but the distance and paid parking make it less convenient for Disneyland.

Our take: We like this one more for the hotel itself than for its location.

STAY

Best Western Plus Raffles Inn & Suites

Especially for larger families

Walk
1.0 mi
Parking
$20/night
Breakfast
Free

Best for: Families who need suite configurations and free breakfast without moving into a higher hotel price category.

Walk: 1.0 mile. Longer than we want for a normal park walk.

What we liked: We stayed in a suite with family, and the larger room setup worked well for a group.

Biggest tradeoff: It still feels like a traditional Best Western motel, so don't expect a resort-style hotel.

Our take: For what it's supposed to be, it delivers pretty well.

STAY IF

Anaheim Islander Inn & Suites

Stay if the price is right

Walk
0.8 mi
Parking
Free (1 car per reservation)
Breakfast
Not included

Best for: Budget-conscious families who need a lot of sleeping space.

Walk: 0.8 miles. Borderline for us, but we'd still consider walking. The U-shaped property can affect the real distance somewhat, but not nearly as much as Kings Inn or Castle Inn.

What we liked: Our two-room suite was huge, with four queen beds.

Biggest tradeoff: The bathroom was incredibly small compared with the size of the suite.

Our take: We'd stay again. We just wouldn't pay a premium for it.

Walk: Not one we'd recommend.

What we liked: The beds were surprisingly comfortable.

MAYBE

Hotel 414 Anaheim

But not if you plan to walk

Walk
Drive
Parking
Free

Best for: A budget stay where you already plan to drive to Disneyland.

Walk: No for us. We did it and hated it. Going up and over the freeway made the walk feel much worse than the distance suggests.

Room: Renovated, but still very much a budget motel experience.

Biggest tradeoff: The location makes it a poor choice if "walkable to Disneyland" is important to you.

SKIP

Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites

Location isn't enough

Walk
0.3 mi
Parking
$22/night, usually valet

Best for: Someone prioritizing being directly across Harbor above almost everything else.

Read our full take

Walk: 0.3 miles on paper. The location is excellent, but rooms toward the back can add considerably more walking.

Parking: $22/night, with only 1 space allocated per room, typically requiring valet.

Biggest tradeoff: Our room felt musty and muggy, cleanliness wasn't good enough, and the parking situation was frustrating.

Our take: The location is the big selling point, but it wasn't enough to make up for the rest of our experience. We'd choose another nearby hotel.

SKIP

Delta Hotels Anaheim Garden Grove

Skip at typical prices

Walk
1.8 mi
Parking
$29/night

Best for: Someone who finds an unusually good rate and doesn't care about walking to Disneyland.

Read our full take

Walk: 1.8 miles. Drive or rideshare.

What we liked: Clean, with daily housekeeping, which is an underrated win with kids.

Room: Tiny sink, and the tub didn't drain, so we had standing water.

Price: We paid $170/night for a 4-night holiday weekend in February, not including parking.

Biggest tradeoff: Parking is one of our biggest complaints: tight spaces, inconvenient access and a shared lot that can get much worse when events are happening.

Our take: The hotel itself was okay, but it didn't feel nice enough to justify what we expect to pay for a Marriott-branded property. At a normal rate, we'd choose something else.
